On Thursday afternoon, Catherine drove us about 20 miles to the town of Nancay, France to visit a Radio Astronomy Observatory. Below are a few pictures of our visit. It's one of those places like in the Jodie Foster movie "Contact". They not only listen to space, but watch planets, forming galaxies, and listen and watch the earth as well. We just couldn't get over the feeling that someone was watching and listening to us.
Just a few more miles to get to Venus! Can you even imagine that the nearest known star to our sun "Proxima Centauri" is over 40 trillion miles away.
They had an area where they had large satelite dishes but they were not accessible
Picture we took while in the "planetarium" theater
Cathrine likes to stop at this candy shop when she comes to Nancay; really nice!
The local church in Nancay.
A Private Chateau in Nancay. We stopped along the road and got a quick picture.
We are still working for our living though! A few bathrooms in Catherine's hotel need painting so we are keeping busy, plus doing a few other things as well.
One afternoon Catherine dropped us off in Bourges. While we were walking to our bus stop to return to Fussy we saw this older man trying to change his flat tire on the side of a busy road. We could tell he was having a difficult time so we stopped to see if David could help. He didn't speak English, but we could tell he was very appreciative of the help.
We are still eating very well! Here are just a few of the dishes we've enjoyed!
Figs from the market with goat cheese
Pasta with eggs
Grilled Rabbit legs.
My brother asked me to find out how to keep them tender so this is for him!
Catherine marinates them in olive oil and lemon juice for overnight and cooks them in stock to keep them juicy before she grills them.
Meringue with caramel sauce
Chocolate Mousse
And sometimes we get to help with the dishes!
So...after eating so many things, we have to run, often!!!
....even in the rain!
Another chapter in the blog, hope you enjoyed it.
