Bourges was originally settled in the 6th century B.C., but destroyed by Julius Caesar who killed all but 800 inhabitants in the winter of 52 B.C. It is well known as a "Middle Ages" city and has been well maintained since. During the summer months the city has a "Tour of the Night Lights", a walking tour, of several different historic sites all lit up; really nice! We took the bus to town Thursday evening about an hour prior to sunset and took some fabulous photos which do no justice to the actual beauty.
The Jacques Coeur Palace. He was a founder of trade between France and the Ottoman Empire.
St. Etienne Cathedral
What an awesome photo! Almost looks like bomb bursts and missle trails!
Jardin de l'Archeveche`
Front of the cathedral looking up the towers
Dinner at "El Gringo Latino" a Mexican/Spanish restaruant
Night pics of the cathedral
Hotel Lallemant, the city's museum of decorative arts of the 15th to 18th centuries
