Crossing the Drake Passage

We left the Falkland Islands at 5 p.m. on January 16th and was told by our captain that we would start hitting some significant swells by 9 p.m. while crossing the Drake Passage.  The video below shows our lido swimming pool turning into a wave machine.

The map shows we are just starting to enter into the Drake Passage
The swells are getting bigger and the ship is starting to rock.  It was a good that we did most of the Drake Passage crossing during the night.  It was nice to get verticle.
Another sea day - we went to a cooking class and learned how to make apple strudel by our Austrian chef
At 58 degrees south the tempertures are starting to drop.  We even saw a few snow flakes falling.

Next up....Antarctica!
