Working at Hotel De La Providence

We've had a wonderful start to our time in France and are getting along very well with our hosts Alexander and Anita.  Below are a few pictures of the hotel and some of the jobs we've been doing so far.

Back garden and terrace
The back garden after David mowed and weedeated
The workshop!  On the table are 2 signs for the hotel and restuarant.  They've had the signs for 4 years and now they want David to make some kind of frame and attach them to posts to be placed in the ground outside of the village for advertising.
Linda ironing sheets, pillowcases, and placemats.
David's specialty - working on lawnmowers!
Always the Handy Man!

The internet router was laying in the floor in a hallway so David made a new plug inside of a cabinet so the router could be placed out of the way.
Lunchtime! - Crepe du jour - Ham and Cheese!
Linda helping in the kitchen

We are amazed at the food we are eating here!
Our starter last night was an apple and zuccinni soup.
Our main dish was Prosciutto with Tartiflette (a traditional potato and cheese dish)
and salad.
The young girl in the photo is Chole.  She arrived yesterday evening from Northern Ireland.  She is also a workawayer and will be here for 2 weeks.
Our dessert was fresh melon and yogurt.
After dinner we walked around the village and ended up at the back of the church.

We came across this watermill and small creek.

On Monday, David and Alexander drove an hour away to Clermont Ferrand to get some supplies for the signs.  Linda stayed with Anita and Chole to help in the hotel.

This was our lunch today - A mixed salad with goat cheese and honey on homemade coutons.
After lunch Linda and Chole walked up the hill and came across the cows
wearing the cow bells we hear everyday.

More to come....

    1. Thank you Don! We are having such an awesome time! Traveling is in our blood and this is a great way to meet the locals and experience things you don't always get in the tourist areas!
