After a wonderful night's sleep we were given a quick tour of the hotel and small grounds. They have a large barn in the back of the hotel filled with items Anita buys at flea markets. After a nice typical European breakfast our hosts encouraged us to walk around the village to get acclimated. The small village has about 400 residents. There is a Post Office, a small market, a bakery, a cheese store and several small hotels with restaurants. We're learning how to pronounce it; slowly but surely!

After one day of work we took a day off and went hiking with some friends of our hosts who came in from The Netherlands. We walked 3 miles, stopped for coffee at an old church in Vassiviere, then walked another 5 miles to Lac Pavin and then stopped for lunch in the beautiful village of Besse.

Another great lunch! Salad, prosciutto, salami, potatoes, and fondue.
We are going to have to stop updating the blog everyday, but for now we hope we haven't overwhelmed you yet.
