First Snow Fall - Moving to the Whimsical Jester House Cafe

The weather started out nice Monday, but by 2 PM a cold wind came through and by evening fire places were in full burn mode.  This was the view from our bedroom balcony when we woke up this morning.  It is the first snow of the season on the south island of New Zealand, and is said to be a bit early.  What a beautiful site!

We moved again, but just a mile and a quarter down the road.  This quaint little cafe is a booming place.  They need help in maintaining the grounds, some cleaning of facilities, and keeping the machines operational.

This is our cottage.  It is called "Wiggly Wog".  It only has a sink and a little firewood stove for heat.  We have to go out to another little building to shower and use the toilet.  The toilet is a "compost" toilet (basically an out-house).  And, yes, we have to clean that out everyother day.

It took a little bit, but we got the fire blazing!
Kitchen in the front, toilet in the back, shower on the side.

The next several pics are of a neat little playground area at the cafe for kids of all ages to enjoy.

What kind of place would this be if it didn't have a boot for guests to stay in: $300 per night.
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe - who knew it was real!

 Inside the shoe/boot
The bed was at the top of the spiral staircase in the top of the boot.
Indoor compost toilet.  How would you like to carry a container of stuff through the house everyday out to the compost pile.  Nice huh?!
 Comfort zone.
 An afternoon of picking apples
Awesome little birds!  They flutter around almost like a butterfly and you think it will land on your hand.  This is a "Piwakawaka", also known locally as the "Fantail".
The Tithe Barn - This is actually a wood shed, garage and workshop and then upstairs is their office and a game room.

Should be an interesting week!  Don't touch that dial; stay tuned, more to come!
